Sure, now that you've read the Configuration List article, you think you're an expert on finding all the info on your clients' configurations in ITBOOST, right?
So, what do you think of the Configuration Dashboard, hm?
Ohh, you're not familiar with that yet?
Well! Have a seat and let's take a tour, shall we?
First, go to your client's configuration list. Here's how.
Now that you're here, give the configuration of your choice a click. For this demo, we'll select "ALEX-PC1".
Here's lots of great info on our pal, Alex's PC. And even MORE info is available, thanks to our old buddy, the Sidebar!
And while this information is great and good to have available -- it doesn't really tell us how Alex's PC is really doing.
Think of it this way:
You get a call from Alex at Frolic Fox Studios. He says his PC is acting up.
You: "What kind of PC is it?"
Alex: "Uh. Not sure."
You: "K. What version of Windows are you using?"
Alex: "It's uh, it's not XP. Don't think it's Vista. The other one."
You: "Right . . . any idea about your RAM?"
Alex: "Naw, I drive a Ford."
Yeaaahhh, so it looks like we're not going to get much out of Alex. Not to worry: There's a button for that. And that button reveals a secret dashboard.
See that double arrow in the upper-right corner pointing toward each other?
That's the one. Click it, annnnnddd . . .
PRESTO! There it is!
Now, you can immediate get a close look at how the specific aspects of Alex's PC are doing. Things like:
- System Info
- Warranty Status
- Processor Type
- Storage Capacity
- Top 5 Processes
- Software Used
- Devices Attached
- Detected Roles
- Running Services (clickable for more info)
- Error Logs (clickable for more info)
FUN FACT: This flippable "secret dashboard" only shows up for servers and workstations that are already integrated with the RMM, which is currently just CW Automate and nCentral. If you don't have that option on one of your configurations, that's why.
So! Now, whenever Alex calls and says his PC isn't feeling well, you'll be able to check on it properly (and quickly), rather than begging him for technical information he probably doesn't know anyway.
